A typical south Brazilian sweet prepared to share moments with family and friends.

Ingredients :

 

  • 10 g of baking powder

  • 100 g of butter

  • 100 cl of milk

  • 3 table spoons of white sugar

  • 1 table spoon of salt

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 kg of flour

 

Recipe :

 

  • Put the baking powder, small cubes of butter, hot but not boiled milk, sugar and the salt.

 

  • Mix everything with a wooden spoon.

 

  • Add the eggs and mix again.

 

  • Wait until the batter becomes yellow because of the butter.

 

  • Add the flour and mix quickly.

 

  • Once the batter is compact place it on a floured  work surface.

 

  • Work the batter into hands making a ball. Don’t hesitate to  add flour if the batter becomes too sticky. Keep working it until it becomes elastic.

 

  • Put the batter in a floured bowl and cover with a towel. Let it sit for an hour. The batter should double in volume.

 

  • Place the batter on a floured work surface and spread it out.

 

  • Spread the topping of your choice on it. It can be dulce de leite or guava marmalade or liquid chocolate.

 

  • Wrap the batter around itself and place in the buttered baking tin.

 

  • Bake in a 220° C oven for 40 mins.
